Easy Tools

Easy Tools for Arcon, by Mediapromote, provides a suite of additional tools aimed at increasing your productivity and speeding up your workflow. Taking some of the common tasks form Arcon and providing further automation, Easy Tools has been developed to complement your current Arcon package and make light work of regularly used drawing features. The Easy Tools add-on provides thirteen additional productivity tools, accessed from a single menu which can be launched from your macros list.
Key features of this edition

Terrain Height Point Import
Arcon Visual Architecture enables you to create realistic landscape visualisations in 3D by adding individual height points to build the topography of the sie. Easy Tools makes this process simpler by enabling you to quickly import an existing text file with height point co-ordinates. Select the file provided from your site survey, identify the co-ordinates and height fields and import the whole site in one click.

Terrain Import with Contour Lines
An alternative method for plotting known terrain points. Enter a height level that you need to display the terrain within Arcon, then simply draw out a polygon line with intermittent points to show the path of the terrain where the level is identical to the chosen height. A contour line is then created with all points along the contour set to the desired height. Multiple contour lines of different height settings can be combined to create complex topographical landscapes.

Get Terrain Height at Specific Point
Terrain and landscape topography within Arcon are defined by individual height points, either manually set or using on eof the new Easy Tools methods. With height points in place, the terrain is generated by creating a ground slope between each height point. The Get Terrain Height tool enables you to select any point within a landscape to identify it's exact height. This can then be adjusted if required by editing or adding additional height points.
Load/Edit 2D Background Picture
Background pictures can be used in Arcon Visual Architecture's construction mode for a variety of reasons. The most common requirement for using an image file is to copy a set of existing plans where they have perhaps been hand drawn, scanned or are not available as a standard CAD file (i.e. DXF/DWG). In this instance it is now possible to import a standard .bmp image to the back of your plan drawing space. This bmp can then be scaled by defining two points of a know measurement. Once scaled you can then use this as a guide to re-create your existing plans. Alternatively, try importing a Google Earth image of you plot and scaling correctly to greater understand your available space and building size.
Texture and Object Exchange
Arcon contains thousands of different objects and textures with which to furnish and decorate both interiors and exteriors. During the lifecycle of project creation, you may wich to quickly replace multiple copies of an object which you have earlier placed in the model (all of the chairs around a dining table for example). The object exchange tool enables you to do just that in one go. Simply select the object you wish to exchange, locate a replacement from the catalogue and all instances of that object are replaced with the new design in one move.
Texture exchange works in the same way, replacing the colour or texture of all instances of an object with a new texture or colour. Ideal for interior designers looking to quickly change colour schemes for clients requirements.
Create Roof Contour Lines
Arcon Visual Architecture house design software can be used for many varied types of building and re-modelling project. One popular use is to create plans and visualisations for loft and attic conversions. Creating rooms within roof spaces is simple, as Arcon will enable you to place walls anywhere within the roof void and will trim the walls to the roof line. The create roof contour lines tool enables you to quickly find the line within a roof space of any given head height. This will enable you to easily identify the usable space within the attic for future conversion.
Create 3D Label Objects
Create text labels to add to your 3D model environment. Specify font type, size, colour and resolution. Create text labels and save them to you object library for use on future visualisations and models.
Create 3D Image Objects
Quickly turn a 2D bitmap image into a 3D object for use within Arcon. Image objects can be used for anything from wall paintings and decorative pictures to fireplace features and kitchen appliances.
Place Object Chains Along Polygons
An alternative to using multi-copy within Arcon. By specifying the spacing, offset and terrain matching then simply draw the line on which you want the objects to be placed and you can quickly create boundaries, fences, tree lines and more.
Chimney Height Editor
An alternative method for setting the level of a chimney stack with various reference point to ensure that the chimney height is correct
Move Dormer
The complex nature of the interaction between a dormer and the roof structure mean that once placed on your plan, it can be time consuming to move and re-locate a dormer. The move dormer tool provide a quick solution to move an existing dormer by a set amount along the roofline.
Window Adjustment to Roof Pitch
By using the advanced window tool within Arcon, the window adjustment easy-tool enables quick matching of the window angle to the roof pitch.
Multi-Layered Wall
An alternative method for creating and changing wall constructions. If you re unsure of the materials and construction of the walls when you initially design the layout of your property, simply select a standard solid wall and draw the layout. The easy-tools multi-layer wall tool enables you to then quickly change a simple wall construction into individual layers to create a more accurate construction.
